The final agreement between Malaga and PAOK is a fact. The transfer of the Portuguese from Malaga to PAOK should be considered a done deal.
“Dicephalos” agreed late Thursday night with the Spanish club on the loan of the Portuguese striker, who will wear the black and white jersey for the next six months. Edinho is expected to arrive in Salonica Friday afternoon in order to sign his contract with PAOK.
PAOK will have the option to buy the player’s contract at the end of the season at a cost of about €1 mio, and the total remuneration package for the current season will amount to €200,000.
Edinho was from the start very positive to come to Salonica and the final agreement was reached after the intensive efforts of PAOK’s General Manager Sergio Conceicao. The player hopes that a series of good appearances with our team will render as a result a spot in Portugal’s celecao for the World Cup.
A small Portuguese colony is being formed in Salonica as Edinho will meet there with Santos, Conceicao, his friend Vierinha, along with his former co-palyer in Pacos de Freirra Cristiano Moraes. Edinho becomes the 4th Portuguese to wear the “Dicephalos” jersey.
Prior to the agreement with PAOK the player seemed closer to Maritimo of Portugal as not only the media were convinced that this was the players next move, but also the management of Malaga was ready to announce the transfer. This never materialized as Maritimo never paid the agreed amount.
